Joanne Haake was born, raised, and educated in Kansas City. After graduating with her bachelor’s degree in marketing and management, she went back to Rockhurst College, attending night school to earn her paralegal certificate.
That’s when Fred Walters hired her as a legal assistant at Linde Thomson Langworthy Kohn and Van Dyke. Her diligence and directness earned her a position as the first employee at Walters Renwick Richards Skeens P.C., when the law firm opened its doors in June 1991.
What began as a small law firm in Kansas City has grown over the past two decades, but Joanne still appreciates how the firm has kept its warmth and approachability even if it has earned local distinctions and national recognition.
